The Wine Cellar: A Wine Tasting Experience

Must be 21 or older to attend - this includes infants, toddlers and all children.

Taste your way through the Lodi Wine Country at the Lodi Grape Festival! Located inside the Ole Mettler Grape Pavilion, nine local wineries will be pouring some of their fine wine for you to sample. From peppery Zinfandels, which the Lodi area is known for, to floral Pinot Grigios, there will be a great variety and you may find a wine you haven't tasted before.

There are four sessions for tasting: Friday, September 13 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.; Saturday, September 14 from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 6:00-8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, September 15 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday there will be commercial wineries pouring; on Sunday you can taste the talent that some of our local winemakers have.

The cost for 10 tastes is only $20 on Friday and Saturday and $15 on Sunday, and includes a commemorative wine glass. And if you would like a full glass of wine after the tasting has ended please visit the Van Ruiten Family Winery wine booth located in the middle of the Pavilion.

Tickets are available online now or available at the entrance to the wine tasting.

Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting from local home winemakers! The Lodi Amateur Vintners Association (LAVA) founded in January 2001 for the purpose of promoting amateur wine making in the Lodi, California area. Through intelligent conversation at monthly meetings, members share ideas and resources concerning wine making. Regular guest speakers, drawn from the local commercial wine industry, provide members an opportunity for improving techniques from trimming grape vines to bottling finished homemade wines. The organization gathers wine making resources and serves as an informal clearing house for information and ideas for its membership and the general public.

Take a taste of what our local amateur winemakers have to offer!
